Inviting friends to Shizu

Shizu grows the quiet way - by word of mouth, one friend telling another. If there is someone you would like to bring in, here is how, and it takes about a minute.

Shizu is invite-only while it is young. That is on purpose: it keeps the community small and kind, and it lets us listen closely to the people using it. Every member can bring a few others in, so the people around you arrive the same way you did - through someone they trust.

How to invite someone

  • Open Contacts in your Shizu and choose Invite to Shizu.
  • Put in your friend's email address and, if you like, a short note - a line in your own words travels further than any marketing ever could.
  • Send it. We email them a warm invitation on your behalf.

That is the whole task. They click the link in the email, pick a name, and land in their own Shizu. Nobody is ever asked to type a code - the link carries everything, so there is no fiddly step to get stuck on.

An email and a note. No codes, no forms, no friction.

A gift, if you want to give one

You can also gift a new member six months of Premium, free - a quiet, generous welcome that lets them try everything without thinking about it. It is entirely optional, and you have a handful to give, so you can spend them on the people you would most love to have along.

What your friend sees

No plan to choose, no card to enter. A new Shizu opens on the free tier (plus your gift, if you sent one), calm and ready. They can connect their mail and calendar whenever they like, or simply start with a note and a task. However they begin, their Shizu is private to them from the first moment.

Thank you for spreading the word. Every person who joins because you told them is exactly how we would wish for Shizu to grow.
